Wood Rot Doctor Franchising Pty Ltd was established as an initiative by Thomson White Australia Pty Ltd. TWA is the leading supplier of specialist Timbercare products used to enhance and prolong the life of timber structures.

It is well accepted by all relevant authorities and industry groups throughout Australia that wood decay is a major problem that can, and has, affected the structural and cosmetic integrity of buildings, including private homes. An estimated 6 million dwellings suffer varying degrees of wood rot in Australia

Our Franchise network is establishing highly trained and knowledgeable experts who are equipped to rectify and carry out a maintenance program to ensure that problems, when identified , are remedied quickly and professionally. Until now, there has not been a specialist group offering a service of this type.

Thomson White Australia Pty Ltd was founded in 1992. The principles of the company, Howard Thomson and Lindsay White have been involved in the construction chemical industry for a combined 55 years. Both have held senior management positions in international companies within this industry. They are both Directors of a Melbourne based construction chemical manufacturer which operates independently to TWA.

They have been joined by Barry Tanner, the sole Director of Barry Tanner & Associates Pty Ltd, as a Director of Wood Rot Doctor Franchising Pty Ltd. Barry is a respected commercial builder. His company is the most prominent specialist waterproofing contractor operating in Victoria. Barry holds a Degree in Building , is a qualified carpenter and a Registered Building Practitioner.

Chris McEvoy of Preschem Pty Ltd is also part of Wood Rot Doctor Franchising Pty Ltd. Chris was co-founder with Chen-Woo Chin of Preschem Pty Ltd in 1987. Both are former CSIRO scientists who combined scientific, technical and industrial expertise in the field of wood preservation. They have published numerous technical papers in Australia and overseas on the subject.
